Credit for Prior Learning

The CSUCO Division of Academic and Student Affairs participates in the California Mapping Articulated Pathways (MAP) Initiative Workgroup. The MAP Initiative This link will take you to an external website in a new tab. works to expand credit for prior learning for students attending California Community Colleges. This effort, and the CSU's participation in it, helps students who transfer to a CSU campus move more quickly to completion of their academic goals.

Regional Veterans Directors' Consortiums

More than 80% of veterans who attend a CSU campus transfer from a California Community College (CCC). Robust collaboration and active connections between CSU and CCC campuses help students transition from one institution to another. To that end, several regional consortiums have regular meetings to bring together those who serve military-affiliated students. Organized by Veterans Resource Center (VRC) directors within the ten regions of the California Community Colleges, these consortiums include VRC directors from CCC, CSU, and UC campuses and often include private, not-for-profit, colleges and universities as well. Meetings of these groups include announcements from each segment of higher education, presentations from local veterans service providers, and updates on state and federal legislative and regulatory changes.
